2010 Board and Committees Begin Their Work

The 2010 board committees have formed and begun meeting. Each committee includes three or four board members and several volunteers.

Membership: A. K. Vincent, Roseanne Rivers, Nicolet Lyon, Naomi Jackson, Amy Unger, Barbara Morghon, Jennifer Moore, Mark Duquesnoy, Kathleen Dlugosz, Heidi Johnson McAllister, and Mary Ouellette.

The Membership Committee provides advisory involvement in membership matters. In recent years, they have also coordinated a number of membership activities.

Board Development: Lisa Scribner, Roseanne Rivers, A. K. Vincent, Nicolet Lyon, and Kathy Ahlers. The Board Development Committee will develop and plan nominations and elections, as well as orientation and training of board members.

Physical Plant: Jay Dregni, Huong Nguyen, Marcia Hanson, Matt Hass, Sarah Matala, Chris Dart, and Sarah Beggs. This committee evaluates issues concerning our building and makes recommendations to the board. They will work with the General Manager to manage physical plant activities.

Finance: Huong Nguyen, Karen Gill-Gerbig, Marcia Hanson, Barbara Morghon, and Marguerite DeSpain. The Finance Committee monitors and evaluates the financial condition of our co-op, and makes recommendations regarding fiscal policy. They also prepare regular financial reports for the board.

Each committee is expected to model our Values Framework as they do their work.

We continue to encourage members to share their comments and make suggestions as the 2010 Board of Directors sets goals for this year. Several strategic directions that we will continue to pursue are to build and support a viable and resilient organization, create sustainable growth, and be a leader in our changing community.

Also, we will address all of the questions that were raised at the annual meeting. Look for this information in the next newsletter. Dates and times for 2010 Hampden Park Co-op board meetings are posted in the co-op entryway. Meetings are held in the "loft" above the co-op, across the hall from the dance floor.
