Volunteer Discounts

Members who volunteer in the store receive discounts on their purchases. Discounts apply to all purchases except milk, eggs, store brand frozen orange juice, prepared soups, prepared coffee, baby food, and certain sale items. Up to two adults per household can share the following discounts:

15% for a total of 3 hours volunteered per month
21% for a total of 6 hours volunteered per month
28% for a total of 12 hours volunteered per month

Discounts begin in the month following the first volunteer shift. (Example: volunteering in June qualifies the member for a discount in July.) Members wishing to volunteer at the 28% level must receive permission from the general manager or the membership coordinator.

Shareholding seniors

Seniors (65+) receive 15% discounts. While they are not required to volunteer for the store, their contributions are welcome. They can receive deeper discounts by volunteering.

Child care credit

Members with children may participate in cooperative child care with other members. One member may volunteer in the store while another member provides child care. Both members receive volunteer credit. The member volunteering in the store and the member offering child care must be from different households. Arrangements for child care must be made between members; the co-op does not assist in this matter. For more information, contact the membership coordinator.
